Dear SciServer users

I am happy to report that the computing capabilities available on the SciServer have been expanded quite a bit.
From now on you will be able to start interactive compute containers with 40 CPU cores and a memory allowance of 160GB (can be increased if needed)
In order get a large container select SciServerMPE-Large in the upper Domain pull-down menu when you create a new container.

The Compute Job nodes have been switched to to the same hardware specifications as well so that big batch jobs get the best chance of finishing in a timely manner.
The old small job nodes have already been deactivated and the freed up CPU cores and memory will be added to the “small” interactive nodes so that they remain useful in the future as well.

Please give the new compute nodes a try and as always, don’t hesitate to contact me if you experience problems or have questions.

cheers
Jonas
