Hi all,
I thought that you might be interested in these two things:
1) Python users in astronomy Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/astropython/
2) 2nd Python in Astronomy conference, March 21-25 2016 in Seattle (UW). Right now they are looking for people to help out with the SOC. They are not necessarily looking for folks with Python programming expertise but are more interested in people with a passion for developing the Python resources for Astronomers and **growing** the Python users community. Nominations (including self nominations) can be sent to kellecruz at gmail.com. Also, nominations of senior grad students and postdocs are welcome. They're aware that much of the enthusiasm for Python is concentrated at the junior levels. This would be a very good opportunity for people looking to get deeper into the astronomy python community.
